MOGA THE 5 YEN

Based in Osaka, MOGA THE ￥５ has been playing since 1995. Unlike the other Pizza Of Death bands, MOGA THE ￥５chooses to sing every song entirely in their native Japanese tounge. Since their begining, the band has self-released almost all of their own material. In 2000, Pizza of Death re-released their 1st album titled "Haruka Kanata" . Their follow up, in 2001, titled "Mikansei Ron" (which means "An Incomplete Theory") has gone on to sell over 20,000 copies.



In 2002 they re-released an album titled "People + 5songs" on Pizza Of Death, which included extra tracks that were featured on various comps from 1997. Later the same year, the band released a split-album with close friends NAHT titled "A Strange Stroke Of Fate" Their 3rd full length album, titled "Imachizukiyo No Hanashi", was released in 2004. This saw the band take on new ideas. While still maintaining their orginal blend of powerful and emotional punk and garage rock, this is the first time for them to experiment with keyboards and mid-tempo songs. MOGA's own original and "peculiar" sound, along with the musical ups and downs takes you on a journey and is perfectly complimented by vocalist Escargot's passionate vocal style and equaly passionate lyrics.however, he only sings in Japanese.



1995年

Escargot (Vo&G) 、Masahiro Sakaguchi (B)、Masatsugu Nishitani (Dr) の３人で「よいメロディーで曲は短いほうがいいな」という意思の基、結成。活動をスタートする。



10月　SANTA VAとS.WEASELのカバー用の曲を録音。

12月　LessThanTVよりSANTA VA発売。



1996年

音源を出したいと思い自らレーベルを立ち上げることに。

FOUR UGLY, FOUR BEAUTIFUL /7"×2をリリースする。 500枚プレスが完売



12月　PEOPLE/７"発売。1100枚プレスが完売。



1997年

9月　FOR UGLY, FOR BEAUTIFUL Vol.2 をTAMI 、FALL TO FLAKE の協力のもとに発売。 同３バンドにて、仙台～神戸のツアーを行う。



1998年

5月　FOR UGLY, FOR BEAUTIFUL Vol.3発売。



10月　SOLD OUT音源と未発表曲をまとめたPEOPLE+5SONGS をリリース。

仙台から九州までライブを見てもらうべくツアーを行なう。



1999年

1月　アルバム作成のため、レコーディングを開始。

4月 アルバム”ハ・ル・カ・カ・ナ・タ・”を発売。今回はCDとアナログ（ライブ売りのみ、Ltd500）を作成。

"ハ・ル・カ・カ・ナ・タ・ツアー"を行なう。



2000年

PEOPLE+5SONGS 再発。



8月　ハ・ル・カ・カ・ナ・タ・をPIZZA OF DEATHより再発！



2ndアルバム製作に向けてレコーディングを開始する。



同月 23～25日に渋谷QUATTROで行われた『極東最前線30～国民爆音大会2000～』

の最終日に出演。



同月 26日、千葉マリンスタジアムで開催された FESTIVAL 『AIR JAM 2000』に参加。



2001年

1月　2ndアルバム"未完全論"を発売。



また、アナログ版もライブ開場での販売のみで、限定1,000枚販売。

同ツアーを行なう。



8月　RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL2001 IN EZOに出演する。



2002年

2月　PEOPLE+5SONGS が再々発！ ”AN EVENING GLOW”、” WORSHIP”も追加収録。

3～12月

モガ企画のライブ、『FOR UGRY，FOR BEAUTIFL5～16』。

11月　ＮＡＨＴとのスプリットアルバム、A Strange Stroke of Fate を発売。



2004年

3月　3rdアルバム"居待月夜の話"をPIZZA OF DEATHより発売。



同ツアーより、新メンバー Yukke (Gt&Cho) の加入によりメンバーが４人に。

これにより歌うことに集中した Escargot　ヴォーカリストとしてのパフォーマンスが最大限に生かされる事になる。



2005年

地元を中心に各地でライブ活動。



2006年

5月　ウルトラマン誕生40周年記念オムニバス「ROCK　THE　ULTRAMAN（avex trax ）」に参加。

8月　"GARLIC　BOYS" トリビュートアルバムに参加。

9月　PIZZA OF DEATH コンピレーションアルバム「The Very Best of PIZZA OF DEATH」に参加。

11月 4thアルバム"其ノ群青"をPIZZA OF DEATH より発売。

１２月 同ツアー開始

2007年

4月 同ツアーファイナル。

2008年

マイペースにて活動。

12月にYukke脱退。

ご苦労様でした！。

2009年

1月 新ギタリスト/KING決定。

ライブもガンガン決定していってます!

ストップしていたアルバム製作に突入なのだ！！！
