Modern English - I Melt With You - Live in San Francisco - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jul 17, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Modern English - I Melt With You - San Francisco, Live, Sun. 7-15-12, Front row, Café Du Nord. At ~4:00, Robbie Grey holds the mic right over my head, then later right in front of my mouth, prompting me to sing a few lines, lol. I guess that's what happens when you stand front row center :P

Other Tidbits:

All the original band members are back! They're doing a short 8-stop tour while finishing up their new album.

Robbie Grey's comment "..and Burger King to this" was in reference to 'I Melt With You' being used in a BK ad back in the 90's. That decision actually resulted in a resurgence of popularity of the song which originally came out in 1982. I actually remember that commercial.. :P

Midway through the show, a pair of fans kept on shouting out for the Café Du Nord's sound board operator to raise the bass' vocals. They even shouted their request after a song which bassist Michael Conroy didn't have a singing part.. The two were standing to the right of the stage, so perhaps their difficultly in hearing the vocals had more to do with the orientation of the venue's speakers. One time, after hearing the fans shout "bass vocals" several times, Robbie Grey pointed to the the sound board operator and jokingly said "I think you better go back and tell him!" :P

Guitarist Gary McDowell positioned a flipbook on a music stand which had all the chords written on it. For example, "GATHERING DUST. Intro. Soft. D. Chord with Vollum Pedal."
