The 242nd release on Balkan Connection features the return of Michael A to the label for a new single. The Belarus based producer has really been catching our attention with his recent releases on DAR, Mistique and Stellar Fountain Deep. Michael's new single for Balkan Connection is entitled 'Intelligences' and it comes with remixes from: Exoplanet and Miraculum.

Michael's productions are getting more intricate and refined with each successive release. 'Intelligences' goes down as one of his toughest and most techno inspired pieces to date. The rough and well shaped bass swells form a uniquely wicked underbelly while the aquatic style electronics add a wonderful vibrancy to the production. The melodic elements really standout as well; sections of well thought out themes which add an incredible amount of emotional to the otherwise dark and ominous sounding piece. Certainly Michael's most elaborate and inspiring production to date.

The first remix comes from Exoplanet who is making his 6th appearance on Balkan Connection. The Dutch producer has continued to impress this year with releases on Mistique, Balkan Connection and Particles. Exoplanet's 'Intelligences' remix adds a nice quirkiness to the track with a wide array of acid lines and warped bubbly synths. In our opinion this is Exoplanet's coolest and most adventurous remix to date. It's full of colour, texture and a very unique vibe. Excellent work from the Dutch producer.

The second and final remix is provided by Miraculum who is having an extremely busy month of August. The Hungarian producer has releases on Rezongar, Balkan Connection and his own Stellar Fountain imprint all this month and they are all amazing. Miraculum has one of the most unique sounds in the new landscape of progressive house. He's always able to create these dreamy track environments that are both unbelievably enchanting and also quite challenging. For his interpretation of 'Intelligences' Miraculum has crafted another amazing sonic soundscape that's rich in melody and texture. The subtle harmonic themes are made up of the most marvellous sounding keys. The delicate, glassy sheen sounds like a processing miracle while the cool beats and tough underbelly keeps things properly on the dance floor. Fabulous sounds from Miraculum once again.

This is one of Balkan Connection's strongest releases to date. Both the original and remixes really standout and if that wasn't enough there is a second original entitled 'Zera' which puts a perfect melancholic close to the EP. Highly Recommended.
