DESCRIPTION:
Black Gold is an "in your face" Texas Country rocker about a man who broke the chains of what would have been a pre-determined destiny at birth. It's the story of a young man born to a family who drew their hard-earned living from the ground, the oil field, in search of the ever infamous Black Gold. He learned the term "oilfield trash" at a very early age and was nudged then pushed away from the life of a "rough neck" by his parents.

This song is in no way meant to detract or demean those who work so honestly and diligently in the oilfields of Southeast Texas and around the world. Black Gold is a vehicle to express the idea that every individual has their own dreams, hopes and aspirations and it's up to each of us to pursue our own personal goals and try our best to make those dreams become our reality. No one decides what it is that we will become unless we allow that decision to be made for us. Black Gold is the story of one man who followed his dream to write his own history.
