After releasing four 12inches on Compost and appearing on many well known compilations like „Strip Oop!“ (Irma), „Explorations“ (Ubiquity), „Groovin'High Vol.1“ (Stepping Stone), „The Wonderful World Of Acid Jazz“ (SPV), „Totally Wired“ (Acid Jazz), „Acid Jazz“ (New Sounds), „Jungle Strut“ (Flying Records), „Street Jazz – London Kills Me Vol.1“, (Passion Music) and „Future Groove“ (BMG). „Mellowdramatic“ is the first album from the famous Freiburg based Brazil-fusion project A FOREST MIGHTY BLACK.

The album turned out to be all you have ever expected from AFMB. A whole hour of wonderfully, well produced melancholic tracks, recorded in their „Mighty Tunes“ studio with musicians like Till Sahm a multi-talented musician (plays piano, Fender Rhodes and Keyboards) who has worked with AFMB on all their releases so far. Bernd Kunz mixes up elements of many different styles like drum & bass, hip hop-big beat, jazz and bits and pieces of Latin and Brazilian music and gives them the typical A FOREST MIGHTY BLACK character. Their debut album is exactly the music you will want to listen to when you’re standing at the window inside your cosy warm apartment and are watching the leaves outside turn brown. There’s not only peaceful slo-mo tracks on the album though. You can also find some more clubby pieces of music like „Everything“. Which will make your head turn red from excessively dancing samba to them .

There is a AFMB-remix album (CPT 049-1/-2, 2-LP /CD) available as well, including mixes by Rollercone, Marnie, Karma, Beanfield, Hacienda, Freakniks, Peshay a.o.

AFMB currently works on his second longplayer, out sometime in winter 2001 / spring 2002.
