Mick Chillage is a Dublin based producer of various strains of electronica who started creating music in 1996, his influences range from the stirring strings of john barry to the electro minimalism of john carpenter to the more obvious strains of detroit techno & the artificial intelligence series from warp records to the ambience of brian eno & pete namlook while retaining a feel which is all his own, Mick first started creating ambient mix tapes in the early nineties using two CD players & a DJ mixer, due to the very eclectic styles on these tapes he writes mixed by the chillage idiot on the cassettes, later Mick & long time friend Paul byrne secure a slot on XFM Dublin & the Chillage idiots are born..
By 2000 Mick had most of the gear he needed to create the kind of music he wanted, so in the same year Mick released a compilation called Various Projects as a limited CDR and was only available in a local infamous local independent music store called Big Brother records. The cd covered a wide range of styles in the electronic music genre. Mick managed to sell all the copies, which wasn't too bad considering the shop sold mostly vinyl... So far Mick has released tracks on UK based Herb recordings, Greek based this side, & has more releases lined up for nice & nasty records & newly formed U.S based IDM label unnamed records & has also got involved in many remix projects.. 2009 sees the release of his debut album on psychonavigation records
