DESCRIPTION:
The compositional intent behind 'Sonatina' was to use idiomatic elements from Eastern Mediterranean music, merged with Western contemporary compositional techniques, to create a dreamy atmosphere similar to the one of the fairy tales from the East.
Jiajia Li premiered this 'Sonatina' for solo flute at the Rocky Mountain College, on Saturday, June 7th, 2014.
