Meta4ce

It has been a long and arduous journey for Meta4ce, some 6,000 miles in fact. Born in Kuwait he arrived in Canada with nothing but a basic grasp of our language and severe culture shock. Some 15 years later, the only son of Palestinian refugees, stands at the forefront of a talented and hungry hip hop community.



As he began to grasp the English language something reached out and took hold of him. Always an aficionado of music he began to gravitate to rap as well as the hip hop culture. In many regards music became a part of him.



Soon after Nas classic debut release illmatic, Meta became infatuated with lyrics and the message artists were spreading. This street poetry spoke to him and in 1996 he began writing music. 2 years later he hooked up with DJ Twitch and the rest is history. Twitch remains his producer and friend to this day.



Meta4ces name can be seen from 3 perspectives. He is in part, lyrically a force to be reckoned with, a blend of hiphops 4 elements (deejaying, breaking. Emceeing, graffiti art) and sick with metaphors and punch lines. Partnered with Twitch they have been pushing their unique sound and establishing themselves all of over your map, including the successful benefit show called Hip Hop 4 the Hungry. Though the bulk of his efforts will be seen in 2005 when he drops his debut album.



The album is the arrival of meta4ce as an artist, Before a new season starts, you have to hustle- you have to be ready to put youre best stuff out- thats why they have training. Weve been doing this for a long time, and now is the time for us to put out our best stuff.



To me, music is like a team sport. The music we put out is a team effort- it comes from unity, from synergy within the team. Its greater than the sum of its individual parts.



More than anything, he wants people to know that his music is far from processed. Its far removed from the unoriginal cookie cutter sound audiences may have grown accustomed to. Each song is raw and true to the musics street origins.



This is music we put time into, and we want people to know that each song is crafted with pride. Music is more than just rhymes and a couple of drum kicksmusic is passion.
