Stevens 1983. To remember the Big Strike of Penrhyn Slate Quarry, 1900-03, when the quarry workers of Bethesda, Gwynedd took on George Sholto Gordon Douglas-Pennant, 2nd Baron of Penrhyn, the Tory quarry owner and landowner, heir to an estate and wealth created through his forefathers' interests in the slave trade. The picture is one of the original cards that were put up in the windows of the strikers' homes. It says "There is no traitor (scab) in this house."
