Meghan Linsey, one half of the CMT-nominated country duo Steel Magnolia, is going solo, and with "Counting Stars" she's giving fans an exclusive taste of what's to come in 2014. "I wasn't planning on putting anything official out until next year, especially a cover," says the blonde bombshell, "but, I just loved the One Republic song "Counting Stars" so much and wanted to record my own version." She went into the studio with producer Tyler Cain to put her spin on the tune and the rest is history. "Originally, we set out to make a simple cover video to accompany the recording and post online," she said. That all changed when director friend Josh Marx showed up to hang and help out. "He brought some of his equipment and before we knew it there were three outfit changes and a full production ensued."

"We were just having fun and making music," Linsey explains. "I've been doing a lot of that lately." It's been so refreshing to be able to make music with freedom and without expectations. The new music I've been working on is an authentic, true representation of who I am. I can't wait to share that with the fans!"
