DESCRIPTION:
Meeco is a German producer and composer based in Paris / France.

As a young child, he was heavily influenced by his father who played classical piano, thereby making it completely natural to follow in his progenitor's footsteps. Beginning piano lessons at 6 years old, and after several years of studying classical music, Meeco, sought other musical outlets. It was after a friend introduced vintage Ella Fitzgerald, Horace Silver and McCoy Tyner recordings, that he became enamored with black American music.

Through Meeco's mentor and close friend New York pianist/singer Bob Lenox (RIP), who had worked as a staff writer for Warner Bros. Records and performed with artists such as Esther Phillips, Pee Wee Ellis, Garland Jefferies and others, Meeco realized that the only important thing in music, whether composition or pianistic skill, was creating the right "feeling".

With this knowledge Meeco quickly gained a reputation as a producer and at the age of thirty-six, Meeco had recorded with many great musicians and singers such as Benny Golson, Kenny Barron, Ron Carter, James Moody, David "Fathead" Newman, Freddy Cole, Bennie Maupin amongst others.

Meeco wrote music for the major German motion picture "Soloalbum" written by Benjamin Stuckrad-Barre and directed by Gregor Schnitzler, and released three albums: "Amargo Mel" (2009), "Perfume e Caricias" (2010) and 'Beauty of the night" (2012).

In February 2013 he went again to New York to record his fourth record „Souvenirs of love". For this occasion he invited his friends Hubert Laws, Buster Williams, Eddie Henderson, Victor Lewis, Lionel Loueke, Vincent Herring, Stefon Harris and Jaques Morelenbaum to join him in the recording studio. Further, for the first time, he collaborates on this record with pianist Eric Reed and vocalist Mary Stallings.

This very special moment in New York was documented by filmmaker Warren Elgort and music journalist Brian Pace.
