With the ink still drying, the Record Machine is eager to announce the latest addition to our label family - KC's own interstellar psych-rock sextet, the Philistines. The Philistines and the Record Machine are teaming up to release the band's first full-length record, Backbone of the Night, slated for an early 2016 release.

The Philistines combine an array of musical styles, influences, and abilities, with members handpicked from various faction of the KC music scene by songwriter Cody Wyoming. The result: an undeniably high caliber of moody, provocative, psychedelic, bombastic sounds.

Led by the ferocious vocals and unbridled stage presence of Kimmie Queen, Wyoming and Rod Peal send out a barrage of spaced-out, razor sharp guitars, backed by the pummeling rhythmic onslaught of drummer Steve Gardels and bassist Michelle Bacon, all tied together by the melodic tapestries of Josh Mobley’s keyboards.
