PERSONAL STATEMENT:
My name is Matthew Schumacher, and I am 16 years old. I live in San Diego, California. I am a junior at Maranatha Christian School, and I am a starter on the varsity soccer team. I am primarily an attacking midfielder, but occasionally my coaches move me to center-back if I'm needed there.

I finished my sophomore season leading all of San Diego in regular-season goals & points and helped my high school team win the league championship.

I was selected to 1st team All-League as a sophomore. I was also selected to 2nd Team All League as a Freshman, and I am a CIF Scholar athlete.

I have played soccer for about 8 years now and have yet to stop loving the sport.

I have been asked to join USSDA teams here in San Diego, but I have declined their invitations because I love playing high school soccer and my RSF Attack team has such a strong bond together.

Currently, my goals are to graduate from High School with outstanding grades, and to go on as a student athlete attending a university with excellent academics and a competitive soccer program.

I wear jersey #8 for my school team and my Attack team.
