‘Get Out Of Your Lazy Bed’ and ‘Half A Minute’ are just two out of the many hits that turned Matt Bianco into one of Europe’s biggest acts in the early 80ies.
With their debut album “Whose Side Are You On?” Matt Bianco proved their worldwide breakthrough – it went platinum in many countries around the world. A record with a fresh new sound introducing jazz to a chart scene still dominated by British new wave, ska and punk.

Now Matt Bianco (Mark Reilly) has teamed up with the most famous Dutch jazz ensemble New Cool Collective, a band that is impossible to think away from the nightclubs and festivals of the Netherlands and beyond. They first made their innovative mark on the instrumental music scene in 1993 with an own variation of jazz dance. The group’s amazing discography includes all kinds of sounds and collaborations. Whatever and whoever the band play with, New Cool Collective make its mark as an endlessly swinging, virtuoso, dynamic music machine.

After a series of inspiring meetings Matt Bianco (Mark Reilly) and New Cool Collective noticed that their style of music and work were the perfect match. They sent ideas back and forth between London and Amsterdam, which first resulted in an EP containing five tracks. Four brand new songs and one remake of the well-known Matt Bianco hit ‘Don’t Blame It On That Girl’. They went on ‘The Things You Love’-tour shortly after and due to the great success and demand for more music New Cool Collective and Matt Bianco decided to record a complete album.
Five new numbers appear on the disc alongside the EP tracks: including ‘Cry’, the superb combi with Clean Bandit singer Elisabeth Troy, and a Matt Bianco and New Cool Collective makeover of one of NCCs own songs: The result is a swinging version of the song ‘Bring It On’.

Mark Reilly about the collaboration with NCC: ”…I had heard NCC’s name but was not familiar with its music. I was really impressed by NCC’s musical and energetic sound after seeing some videos. The band’s influences are very similar to my own but different enough to make an interesting collaboration…”
