Mark James (born as Francis Zambon in 1940) is a songwriter, famous for writing hits for singers B.J. Thomas, Brenda Lee and Elvis Presley, most notably Elvis' last US number one hit single, "Suspicious Minds." He also wrote this song "Moody blue", which was also recorded by Elvis.

Mark's version of "Moody blue" reached number 17 on the South African Top 20 in 1976, charting for 4 weeks. The version by Elvis reached number 7 in 1977.
