Travel distance relationships on cheap 12" globe vs. flat maps - Video

DESCRIPTION:
Bob Weigel of http://www.sounddoctorin.com joins forces with the super powers of sir Charles and Mary queen of camera bearing in order to show us trying to measure distances on a fairly inexpensive globe you all can attain at thrift stores etc. in order to compare the ratios between various destinations. As noted we were consistently within 2% of 'as the crow flies' direct routes using even these crude methods. Whereas using any flat map (UN MAP for instance) we find that there are 50% errors and up. We compare the NY to London and Pretoria to Canberra distances for that comparison. I was talking to a fellow the other day who kept claiming 'globe maps are off too! Greenland is the size of Africa!' No it's not. It is on a FLAT map that he was looking at. That's my point. Flat maps never work because earth isn't flat. This recent movement was started by atheists I'm sure who have nothing better to do than take advantage of ignorant people. BIBLICALLY the word 'earth' historically (and still does in one definition) refer to 'dirt' or the land mass you are currently perceiving around you basically. The ancients had no firm data to help them ascertain the shape of the planet. Hence some imagined it was overall flat. But see also my video where you can verify curvature by using a transit on mt. hood and viewing Adams and Rainier in the distance. THe heights are easily measured from sea level and with altimeters etc. Welcome to the globe baby.
