DESCRIPTION:
Julie Ziavras sings Manos Hadjidaki's beautiful song "S'AGAPO" (I love you) in a live concert accompanied by Spiro Cardamis Ensemble. A concert tribute to the great Greek Troubadour Composer Manos Hadjidakis given at Marros Hall of the Greek Orthodox Church of our Saviour (east Rye N.Y.) Sep24,2005.
The "HADJIDAKIS WITH LOVE" concert was under the direction of Spiro who also made the arrangements of the songs together with the starting orchestral suite and the final medley. The songs were performed by Julie Ziavras, soprano extraordinaire, with Spiro on the piano (a beautiful baby grand Steinway that was specially rented for the event).
The rest performers of the Ensemble were:
Eleni Kalaitzidou on cello & vocals.Maria Jovanovic on flute & Pete Chivili on upright bass... and Tasso Papaioannou, guest singer, who sang the duet "LIANOTRAGOUTHA"with Julie.
At the end of the concert an enthusiastic audience of 200 people gave the performers a standing ovation.Job well done!!!
