DESCRIPTION:
Specific Arts Council of Wales funding enabled us to commission for the 2010 festival four performers/artists to write and perform a short piece about growing older... about what it feels like to have reached the time when the Welsh Assembly says you officially became old ...or perhaps about how their life in Wales has changed over the years as an actor or as a woman? We brought the four commissioned artists together on 11 May at the Gate Theatre in Cardiff to film the event so it can be seen by a wider audience.
'Some of the Things' was written by Mal Pope (with help from BBC Radio Wales listeners) to celebrate the occasion of his fiftieth birthday and to acknowledge the 'pearls of wisdom' we acquire as we age and that we wish we had known when we were younger.
