Malbrook (archaic folk from northern Germany) and Deborah Strauss (well known Klezmer virtuose from USA) played a wonderfull, breathtaking concert in the old Synagogue in Hagenow (northern Germany) in November 2013.

This one is an old german ballad about a bandsman who was ask by the beautiful kings daughter to come up to her room to "play her a new tune". The young man is afraid to be punished by her father and doesn´t want to do it.
The princess talks to him so seductiv that he forgets the reality and goes to her room. Of course the father comes into the room, sees them together and the bandsman has to pay with his life.

The melody of the song is made by Wolfgang Meyering.
