Actually the full title of this song is "Magnum Opus a.Father Padilla Meets The Perfect Gnat b.Howling At The Moon c.Man Overboard d.Industry On Parade e.Release The Beavers f.Gnat Attack".

It is a collection of leftover bits and pieces from both Walsh and Livgren that were cut and pasted together to make this song. The original title was "Leftoverture", but Dave Hope suggested that would be a better name for the album. When Wally Gold the bands manager, suggested Magnum Opus for the song, the switch was made.

All the members were given writing credits.
