DJ Maestro1

Jason "DJ Maestro 1" Norfleet - Writer, disc jockey and producer extraordinaire is Connecticuts premiere gospel DJ and is ready to take the world by storm with his unique brand of gospel and R&B fusion creating a mix style all of his own. Maestro is known by his parents and close friends as Jason Norfleet and hails from the city of Meriden, CT. From the very early age of 8, he discovered he had a love for the ministry of music. With the help of the Lord and much prayer from his Pastor and father, he developed an ability to play and master 4 instruments; the violin, drums, bass guitar (which God miraculously gifted him to play skillfully in 4 days) and his voice that, believe it or not, was inspired by a chance meeting with a Jamie Foxx cd. Although he was talented in all of those various ways, God had a new ministry in store for Jason that he at first was reluctant to explore but soon would find would be in much demand; Gospel music mix tapes. In 1992, Jason became the disc jockey for many church functions and weddings; however after receiving his first substantial piece of equipment from Radio Shack of all places in 1993, he created his first mix tape entitled, Nashte Gospel Funk. But it would not be until his next project that he would garner the attention and respect of his peers establishing him truly as an innovative pioneer of his time; he called it Funke Sermons. Jason bravely experimented and took a sermon from Bishop Paul S. Morton and played it over Blackstreets, No Diggity. Again, not being sure of the publics opinion of such an idea, he shelved the project for 4 years. It wasnt until he met with Pastor Hubert Powell who heard it and fell in love with it that Maestros confidence and success began to grow. Other pastors began to request for their messages to be immortalized by Maestros majestic touch and soon there was a request for his music in record stores across the state. Maestro has never been limited to one skill or mindset. To his credit, he has received awards for mentoring youth in a program called P.R.I.D.E. (Preserving Racial Identity through the Development of Education). He is also a proud member of the NAACP. Jason has disc jockeyed from the pulpit to the palace (so to speak). Most recently, DJ Maestro 1 has just become host of his very own on-line internet radio show on Eprayzeradio.com. His work has been heard both nationally and internationally over a plethora of radio stations and he received a featured article from In Ya Ear! a very popular gospel magazine. This young man is a true testament of his gifts making room for him, his credentials and professionalism has opened doors for him at the world acclaimed Harvard University. DJ Maestro 1 has an impenetrable spirit and vision and believes whole-heartedly that with Gods blessings continuously and unconditionally, all things will come to pass.
