I Mad Dog nascono nella primavera del 2005, con la comune passione per thrash, il death metal e l'hardcore. Dopo alcuni problemi iniziali derivati da cambi di line up, la band si assesta su una formazione a 4: Emanuele Salvatori alla chitarra, Andrea Di Bianchi al basso, Luca Coccia voce, Cristiano Salvatori alla batteria.
Nel giugno del 2006 il quartetto registra il promo "Dog food" di tre brani di cui uno in italiano. Nello stesso periodo il gruppo inizia la propria attività live, che lo porterà a calcare i palchi di noti club e centri sociali romani e a partecipare a diversi festival estivi.
Nella primavera del 2007 vengono ultimate le registrazioni di "Beware of dog".Il cd,che contiene 9 tracce composte nel primo periodo di attività, ottiene ottimi consensi da parte della critica, su riviste di settore e webzine specializate.
I testi, tutti in inglese, sono vicini alle tematiche di ribelione e rivolta pensante care al movimento hardcore, in "Beware of dog" si canta contro l'ipocrisia del sistema in tutte le sue forme: politica, guerra, media.
Nel gennaio del 2008 Andrea lascia la band e viene sostituito da Ennio "Eddie" Frisina, bassista giramondo tornato a Roma dopo le esperienze con i rocker australiani High Stakes e con gli inglesi Kirbgrinder, progetto solista del batterista dei Threshold, Johanne James.
Attualmente, con la nuova formazione, i Mad Dog stanno componendo nuovo materiale e contiunano la loro attività live.

Mad Dog are born for fun in spring 2005 from the union of ideas and intents of a group of friends from the suburbs of Rome.
They start as a five members band but then, after some changes as the leaving of one of the guitarists and the replacement of the bass player, they arrive to the present band: Luca Coccia vox, Emanuele Salvatori guitar, Andrea Di Bianchi bass, Cristiano Salvatori drums.
With this line-up, in spring 2006, they record “Dog Food”, their first one-day homemade Demo, which includes three tracks: Lords of War, The Extirpation (Made in Africa) and Verso Nega.
In this period, they start their live performances. Since then, they have played and are playing in several well-known roman clubs as Traffic, Sinister Noise, Dissesto Musicale and some Rock Festivals in Guidonia and Rieti.
In spring 2007 the band start the recordings of the second Demo/CD “Beware of Dog”, finally presented in July: Beware of Dog, Straight Until Death, Lobotomy, Bullshit, Fight for Freedom, Made in Africa (Extirpation), We Shall Overcome, Big Game Shooting, Lords of War.
The music proposed by the band is a classic Thrash Metal with sometimes some Hardcore, Death, Doom and Nu Metal influences.
The lyrics are of protest and rebellion. They talk about life and all the problems linked and created by human kind, war, deportation, frustrations, animal rights, and people auto determination.
