DESCRIPTION:
Nerlich was a Finnish Death Metal band, founded in 2004 somewhere in the capital region ( Cities of Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa). The bands varying line-ups featured members such as Lari Pyykkö ( Phlegethon, Hooded Menace, Vacant Coffin etc.) and Davi Moreira from Kataplexia, but the visionaire of the band was Miika Merikallio, who did the vocals, part of the guitars and bass in some points and also composed most of the lyrics. Unlike most of Old-School worship projects, the main influencers of Nerlich, where the more technical Old-School bands like North-American Suffocation, Morbid Angel and Gorguts and Finnish bands like Demilich and Demigod. The band was first named as "Machine of Devestation" but already before the first self-titled demo of 2004, the band had been named "Nerlich". Later year 2004, band recorded and released their second demo "Insane Creations - Inorganic Echoes". This demo was also featured on "Embalmed Madness" split-album with two French Death metal bands, Decoherence and Gorgasm, in 2005. After recording their promo demo, produced by Janne Joutseniemi ( Stone, Suburban Tribe ) the band released their demo compilation "Substantial Alteration of the Cadaver as the
Insects Breed in It's Entrails - the Stench is Stimulating Senses (Causing Orgasm)" featuring all of their previous demos. The complilation was a remembrance for late Tuomas "Tuoppi Lintulaakso" ( Slugathor, De Lirium's Order ) . In January year 2007, the first and sadly last full-length of the band "Defabricated Process" was released by Old School records. "Innards" EP ,released in 2008, was the final release of the band. The band split-up in end of October the same year.
