LUCREZIO DE SETA's BIOGRAPHY
Born in Rome the 12th of September 1970 L. de Seta starts to study classical percussion and drumset in 1982. At the same time begins to play in several rock and jazz bands of the roman musical scene.
His first professional experiences include several international Tours executing the great Musical West Side Story by L. Bernstein, the Dreigroschenoper by B.Brecht with live original music by K.Weill, Cats by A.L.Webber, Romeo and Juliet by W. Shakespeare, and the Antigone by Sofocles
In his formative years he attends master-classes by Vinnie Colaiuta, Dave Weckl, Dennis Chambers, Peter Erskine, Hal Blaine, William Kennedy, Tony Verderosa, Tony Oxley, Trilok Gurtu, among others. In 1991 Lucrezio is accepted at the DRUMMERS COLLECTIVE school in New York, where he moves to for a period of one year during wich he has the opportunity to play in jazz- and latin-ensembles. Studies with: Marvin Smith, Kim Plainfield, Duduca da Fonseca, Michael Lauren, Pete Zeldman, Ricky Sebastian, Mike Clark, Frankie Malabe, Bobby Sanabria, Bob Weiner and Brian Doherty.
He has played live and/or recorded with:

In 2000 he founds The Scurvy Brothers, a 10 piece band giving tribute to the music of Steely Dan and of the solo projects by Donald Fagen. He co-founds produces and or collaborates with a long list of original bands, including: Majaria, Virtual Dream, Scala, Groove First, Bootleg Blues Band, Blues In Vein, The Fritz Gang, Haze.
Intenational Festivals and Venues include: Abu Dhabi Jazz Festival, Vienna Jazz Festival, Olympia Paris, European Bass Day, Villa Celimontana Jazz, Neapolis Live Festival, Jazz Image, New Year's Eve in Piazza del Popolo - Roma, Jeux de la Francophonie, 18Maggio in Roma, Olimpic Stadium Roma, Monza Rock Festival, New Year's Eve in Piazza del Duomo - Milan, Liri Blues Festival, Colfelice Blues Festival.
He has taken part in several kermesses and television shows such as Great Performances (USA � Vittorio Grigolo 2006), the May 1st Live Concert at San Giovanni in Rome, Festivalbar (Italia 1), Un disco per l'estate (Canale 5), Euro Folies in Paris (Radio Inter and Radio France), Help! and Roxy Bar by Red Ronnie (Tmc 2), Tarattattà (Rai2), Parla Con Me (Rai3), Top Of The Pops.
As an educator Lucrezio presents and assists drumming Greats such as David Garibaldi, Virgil Donati, Akira Jimbo, Kim Plainfield and Pete Zeldman in their italian Clinic tours. He holds a monthly lesson on technique on the drumming magazine Percussioni for two years and publishes his Minus One Drum Method (Bemolle edizioni) Based on the music by Fusion Trio Virtual Dream and in 2003 he takes part to the 1st Italian Drummers Convention sponsored by Drummers United appearing on their DVD Tempi Moderni (Carish). He is in charge of the Artistic Direction of Batterika Events (www.batterika.it)
Lucrezio has composed original music for commercials, spots and theatre shows by NikeFootball.com, Monte dei Paschi di Siena, Consorzio Olii Usati, Bulgari, Ministero per lo Sviluppo, Bottega del Pane among others.
