Lovers In Arms began in Chicago in 2006 as an electronic experiment between singer-songwriters Caroline Yohanan and Armando Perez. Incorporating diverse influences their first independent LP, "Belmont Electric" debuted to positive reviews and created the need to form an eclectic live band. Ryan Schoen on bass, Dan Lieber on drums and vocals, and Juan Lugo on percussion and guitar support the duo in their creation of electroacoustic indie rock.

The inevitable dynamics born from touring influenced the band's songwriting on L.I.A.'s 2008 album, "Strength For The Weary." Its live instrumentation, exploratory writing, and multi-layered vocal harmonies are a result of experimenting and fine-tuning on stage. Singles "Slow Love," "Strength For The Weary," "Oh My Brother," and "The Alchemist" demonstrate the diverse strengths of this genre-bending group.
