DESCRIPTION:
This is Champion Jack's 1940 version. Probably his original. He later re-recorded this tune in 1962 or 63. This tune reminds me of my family. Especially my grandparents. My grandmother taught me to cook a lot of things. Cabbage being one of the big ones. And "meat" for the greens means pork by the way. But it was wonderful. Her wee kitchen and her singing and her presence. Shes amazing. She even cooked poke 'salad' when we were kids. Those were the days. ...but anyhoos....
