Our first taste of the new Pink Floyd album may be the final thing we ever hear from the band, as it's set to close THE ENDLESS RIVER, which is said to be the final release of Floyd's career.
That being said, the song is majestic, and everything you would expect. Recorded around the same time as THE DIVISION BELL, it would seem that the band recorded two farewell songs. The dramatic "High Hopes" which closed TDB, and this track, which feels more like a retrospective of the band's career, calmly saying that Pink Floyd never had to be the most sonic band, the most bombastic or irreverent to make an impact, be literally louder than words.
THE ENDLESS RIVER comes in about a month. CKN will review it.
