One of San Francisco's punk pioneers, David Hayes, co-founded Lookout Records, helped build Maximum Rock N Roll, 942 Gilman St., toured with Operation Ivy, hosted an MRR radio show, put out Green Day's first 7", ran Very Small Records, and then left it all behind. We wanted to know how it all started, why he left it all behind, and just what the fuck happened between David and his Lookout Records! partner, Lawrence Livermore.
