The Long Weekend existed from 2003-2009. In that time they released 3 singles and 1 album on Mother Tongue Records, as well as a whole host of self funded EP's. The band travelled from Stooges esque Garage noise in the early days through to anthemic psychedelia and agrresive yet melodic pop music by the time of the eventual demise in 2009. Along the way this Medway six piece were courted and rejected by major labels, banned from some venues and loved by others. Highlights included early gigs at Bath Moles, headline triumphs at Death Disco and the Borderline as well as legendary nights in the basement venues of The Command House and The Buffalo Bar.

Thanks go out to: Julian De Takats, Chris Cooper, Wayne Ryan, David Wise, Jim Reilly, Paul Tipler, Julian Whitfield, Paul Schroeder. Michelle Cain, Amanda Woodhead, Jon Lappin and many more.

About the band:

"The band’s brilliant new single, Record, conjures up sharply creased strides, strong tea and a pocket full of the folding stuff, and aims a broadside at people who talk the talk about quitting a small town for the big smoke, but never get there" The Sunday Times

"Breathless, tuneful stuff from Kent's finest here.Should be huge." 8/10 Teletext Planet Sound
