With both Hex One and 5th Element being huge fans of Big Pun, Deep Cover '14 was born out of admiration, celebration, and as a tribute to his life and musical impact. In 2007 as part of his first mixtape, 5th Element remixed the song Twinz adding his own beat to the classic song. It seemed only right for Hex to do the same in some way by instead "remixing" the lyrics. He takes on the task of using not only the same rhyme scheme but also the same rhymes but with completely different words! The result is a refreshing new take on a lyrical benchmark set by one of the illest to ever do it. R.I.P. Christopher Lee Rios AKA Big Pun.

Hex One is one member of the rap duo Epidemic recently cosigned by Talib Kweli, Vinnie Paz, Rittz and R.A The Rugged Man for winning 2nd place in R.A's Definition of a Rap Flow contest. Tek-nition (the other member) won 5th place among 1000+ entries. 5th Element is the producer of Epidemic's debut album "Illin Spree" released in 2011.
