About three years have passed since the release of "Arrive and Escape" (Consolidate Records / Rough Trade), Lockjaw's furious second album. The intensity and dexterity of this record received positive feedback throughout the European alternative music press. It was their first album to be launched with the support of a professional label and distribution and instantly was paid lots of attention:
"Better than ever, cleverly arranged and exceptionally well performed" (Visions), "one of the best German post-hc albums in years" (Intro), "dynamic Emocore shifting between intensity and calm" (Musikexpress). Numerous live-appearances additionally spread these news and gave proof of the bands gripping live performance, sharing the stage with fabulous acts such as Helmet, Monochrome, Kettcar, and Koufax.
In November 2005 the band again hit their very own studio for three months of recording. The album was this time entirely self produced by the band and engineered by bass-player Frederik Groborsch, creating a sound influenced by contemporary indie as well as early recordings of The Police and Thin Lizzy.
And, finally, here we go! The self-titled album was released on January 26 (2007), and it definately surpassed the success of its precursor! Though the basic recipe remained the same: In unaltered line up the five piece ferociously propel their unique mixture of emo, post-hc, and indie-rock'n'roll. But the bands most prominent characteristic probably is their special way of blending a driving groove with beautiful harmony all in a rich and noisy wall of sound! Yet these twelve songs do not only work on the dance floor but also supply the attentive listener with ever new details to be discovered even after several listenings.
All in all an intelligently rocking record to keep both your brains and dancing shoes busy!

Lockjaw splitted in 2008.
