FAO: Bands/DJS/Musicians wishing to play future events
Hello-
A quick note to say hi and thanks for messaging us. We are always inundated with people who want to play future events, and contacting us asking us to listen to your profile page is not the best way of getting on board as there are so few of us able to do this.
If you are really truly interested in playing a free fundraising gig for us then please do the following:
Email us at
lmhrexeter@yahoo.co.uk
Subject: Band name, Vague genre, location, available from date
Text: A little about your band (do not attach biog documents - if you want copy and paste the best bits)
Attach: One MP3, the one you feel most reflects what you are about (we haven't time to listen to more).
This way we can build a simple database of interested bands rather than trawling back through months of Myspace messages.
Look forward to hearing from you all again.
Love
LMHRExeter

LOVE
MUSIC HATE RACISM
In the European Parliamentary Elections in 2004, the BNP took over 43,000 votes in the South West (not enough to gain an MEP seat). Their stated aim is for the South West to be a multicultural-free zone and a white heartland. The BNP has more local councillors now than ever. We must not allow their bigoted, racist, sexist and homophobic hatred and lies to win over the hearts and minds of the good people of the South West.
All proceeds from the events that we organise will be donated to the national organisation Love Music Hate Racism, details of which can be found at www.lovemusichateracism.com

MUSIC HATE RACISM EXETER
GET
UP STAND UP come dance with us,
and help stamp out racism
Bands
and musicians from far and wide have been clamouring to get involved in the Love
Music Hate Racism events and the line up on 1st October was no
exception to the splendid selection of talent Love Music Hate Racism Exeter is
about to bring to you over the coming months.
LMHRExeter indulged our aural proclivities with such
genre-bending and heart-stopping acts as Zetan Spore, Trimorphous, The Selectiv
and Obedientbone along with support DJs on this seductive Sunday.
So,
who are Love Music Hate Racism Exeter? "We
are a collective of local volunteers who love music and use it to celebrate
diversity and promote racial harmony", says Danu, whose pledge at www.pledgebank.com
earlier this year prompted musicians, promoters and venues alike to come
together to organise events which, as Danu told us "will not only be fantastic
events in their own right, aimed at a wide-ranging audience to reflect our own
varied tastes, but will also act as a celebration of our community's music and
the fact that cultures can and do mix". Danu
adds "Exeter is a growing and diversifying community and we want to bring all
the talent that comes from this cosmopolitan city and beyond together to create
a local movement against the unfortunately prevalent racial prejudices inherent
in this country".
All
profits from LMHRExeter's events will be going to the national charity Love
Music Hate Racism www.lovemusichateracism.com
so make sure you get along to at least one of the several events planned and
show your support for this exciting new venture and perhaps even get involved.
More
LMHRExeter events coming soon. We
are looking for volunteers to help; if you are interested please email lmhrexeter@yahoo.co.uk
- we would particularly welcome more bands, speakers, DJs, venues and
sponsors. Please see our website www.myspace.com/lmhrexeter
for information.
WE LOVE MUSIC AND USE IT TO CELEBRATE DIVERSITY AND PROMOTE RACIAL HARMONY!!!
We are a collective of volunteers who love music and use it to celebrate diversity and promote racial harmony.
Our music is living testimony to the fact that cultures can and do mix.
It unites us and offers a vibrant celebration of our multicultural and multiracial society.
Racism seeks only to divide and weaken us.
Love Music Hate Racism was set up in 2002 in response to rising levels of racism and electoral successes for the Nazi British National Party.
Love Music Hate Racism Exeter will be organising a series of music events in Exeter and donating all profits to Love Music Hate
Racism.
We will soon be holding a rock festival with bands Cousin Red,
Takk, Kill Van Helsing, and The Amigos playing genre-bending original tunes throughout the day, with DJ support. The date is currently under review.
Bands interested in playing any future events should contact by email in the
manner mentioned at the top of this page, many thanks!
