The setting for this clip - a cover of Kathy Perry's hit "California Gurls" - moves radically away from the original. As the music drifts far from the hedonistic dance arrangement of Ms Perry's mega hit, moving towards a loungey and elegant downtempo, so does the video: no bikinis, no swimming pools, no stereos in cars. Here's only an early morning London, with the usual rush of commuters and tourists passing by. The word "Love" - appearing once in the clip - is what people are missing today and every communication seems digital and/or distant. A pure contrast with the song lyrics.
