PRESENTED BY RHIANNON WATSON

Recently returned from shows in Northern Ireland, Melbourne-based singer/songwriter LILITH LANE will play solo for Balcony TV. Her most recent album Pilgrim was released on vinyl by French label Beast Records in 2015 and after touring with a full band in Europe will return to Australia for solo performances. Featuring tunes from string-laden, piano-based Gold Diamond, (2010) the dark folk/roots of her debut self-titled (2008) record, and the psychedelic garage of her current album Pilgrim (2013/14) on guitar or piano.

PILGRIM (2013) garage/soul/blues
“one of the best of 2014 by it’s own merits, magnificent work” (Dirtyrock-Spain)

“an incredible album to discover over and over again until your record-player is smoking.”
(The Sky is the Limit- France)

“Lane’s quirky style wrapped in bluesy vocals instantly demands attention”(Vulture magazine)

GOLD DIAMOND (2010) piano/strings
“a carefully crafted album full of amazing tracks that prove that Lilith Lane has got that something special indeed”
(Rave magazine)

LILITH LANE (2008) folk/roots
“Lilith Lane is extraordinarily good” (INPRESS).

LIVE
“Full of confident charm, Lane introduces new tracks from her third album Pilgrim including the smoking, bluesy Sun Set Fire with distorted guitar riffs galore. Dramatic double-bass playing is the driving force behind Lane's vocal on the intense Baby Elephant Print (Gina), which, she explains, was written as a tribute to mining magnate Ms Rinehart. Lane and her wives (all men, by the way) perform languid, bluesy tracks infused with theatrics, smoldering guitar work and thumping double bass for the remainder of tonight's set. The atmosphere is heady enough to drive tipsy girls into the arms of their men, swaying and tripping in the bluesiness. Next stop for this ensemble is France, where Lane's arresting performance is sure to be a perfect fit in a smoky little Montmartre bar.” (ANNALISE BALL- themusic.com.au)
