Who and Why

My name is Tyler Marolf and I'm the owner and founder of Los Rios Rock School in San Juan Capistrano which was established in 2009. Los Rios Rock School has grown into something so much bigger than all of us, a place where kids of all ages and abilities can come and learn how to communicate with each other through music. Our secret is that we give the kids of Los Rios Rock School a voice. Listening to what kids have to say is the vital component that keeps our school alive and free. The students learn about accountability, courtesy, friendship, family, musicianship, performance, theory and so much more through our extensive music and performance academy. We have also found that integrating our students with autism into the mix of other students in our live group performances and rehearsals has caused even more personal growth for our students than we ever imagined. We keep setting the bar higher and higher and the kids keep jumping up and grabbing it every day. The harmony we see at Los Rios Rock School on a daily basis with all of our students is surreal and is the reason we keep growing.

We have run out room in our new 3000 square foot facility and have already signed a lease on another 1438 square feet a few doors down! LRRS has grown from 28 students to 67 students since February of this year and still climbing. We need two more live rehearsal studios to accommodate the concert rehearsals which will allow us to start enrolling children with autism that are currently on our waiting list. We currently have one live room and this is now nowhere near enough room. One of the new live rooms will also be reserved as a creative lab and studio for our students to write, record, and produce their own music in. Its very important to me to make sure that LRRS has the bandwidth to handle any and all students that want to be a part of the life changing program we have cultivated here at Los Rios Rock School.

Your contributions to our cause will have an immediate positive effect on the kids on the South Orange County area. Music is missing in so many of our schools and we are trying to fill the vital void as best and fast as possible with your help.

What We Need & What You Get

We need $25,000 to complete the 45 day construction project of the LRRS Annex building. We have our own Recording Studio Construction crew standing by waiting to start and a complete cost break down, floorplan and analysis located here www.loveandserviceinc.org

What is being built:

1. New live room (live room #3)

2. New live room/ creative lab (Live room #2)

3. New private classroom/ creative lab mixing room

4. New private classroom

Immediate benefits:

Reduced Rehearsal Time! 3 live rehearsal rooms running at once will cut our time down from 3 hours to 1 hour.
More open Jam and social time in the live rooms.
Capabilities to conduct three drum lessons at once. (Instead of one drum lesson at a time)
Current Children with Autism waiting list will become enrollments.
Student Creative Lab and protools studio installed into Live room #2 for students who take our protools recording basics course. (Students can use their normal lesson hour to take the protools recording course)
LRRS students with original projects/bands can book a live room in the evenings to get together in the creative lab to write together or just rehearse for shows. (or book time and see about starting a new creative band/project!) This separate from their lessons and all part of tuition.
