DESCRIPTION:
PLEASE NOTE, THIS VIDEO WAS AN EXPERIMENT. I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO HEAR THIS SONG PLAYED ON A VOX CONTINENTAL, & THROUGH A REAL LESLIE.
SEEING AS MY LESLIE 3300 WAS ALL MIKED UP, I DECIDED TO TRY THIS SONG ON MY VOX CONTINENTAL.
IT IS HARDER TO PLAY ON THIS ORGAN BECAUSE IT ONLY HAS 49 KEYS,WHEREAS MY HAMMOND HAS 61.
PLUS IT SOUNDS MUCH MUCH BETTER ON A HAMMOND.
BUT I THOUGHT PEOPLE MIGHT LIKE TO HEAR THE VOX!!
Rather than playing the single note bass line as my left hand accompaniment during the verses,I came up with the idea of playing the "main riff" chords/part with my left hand, whilst playing the main organ lead with my right hand.
Ive never seen anyone do it this way before.
This is much, much harder than just playing the single bass notes with your left hand.
I hope it will be of interest.
Enjoy!!

This is a 1964 British Vox Continental organ being played through my Leslie 3300 speaker cabinet.

(I recorded my Leslie 3300 using my 2 Shure SM57 microphones).

(Filmed on my Kodak Zi8 video camera).

(Whole track put through Tascam 2488 MKII portastudio).
