PUBLISHED:  Dec 09, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
"December 1980" is a song which was recently rediscovered in one of Lennon's Ghost's original songbooks. Up until this video camera version, which was shot yesterday on December 8th, 2012, the song had never been previously recorded. It was written when LeG was 24 and he refers to it as "The world's most depressing song about Christmas because it is about the assassination of John Lennon."

Into the night some pain will reign
Illusions of demented disdain
Thunder and death breaks silence fold
But I never remembered Christmas this cold
I never remembered Christmas this cold

Pieces of hate tear into dreams
Can't feel the hurt beyond the screams
Sadness so deep it's still untold
But I never remembered Christmas this cold
I never remembered Christmas this cold

Children in the streets
Singing Christmas songs
I see their happy smiles
And I warmly think of you
But I
Can only feel that I'm
Still living in a dream
To get by

'Cause I never remembered Christmas this cold
I never remembered Christmas this cold
I never remembered Christmas this cold
No, no, no
I never remembered Christmas this cold
I never remembered Christmas this cold
This dream is over...

Refrain:
God is a concept
By which we measure our pain
I'll say it again...
