Lego - Happy - Pharrell Williams
Music: Pharrell Williams - Happy

I love Lego Songs!

Happy is a song performed by American singer and producer Pharrell Williams, from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack album. It also serves as the lead single from Williams' second studio album, G I R L (2014). The song was written and produced by Williams. It was released on November 21, 2013 alongside a long-form music video presented via the website 24hoursofhappy.com.

There's not a lot you can criticise with 'Happy'; with Pharrell's classic soul voice it has a strong Motown feel - it's simple and archetypal with no embellishments. Unbelievably catchy, it's definitely the kind of song that makes you want to dance and sing along - an important element for any children's film tune. More importantly, it's infectiously cheerful with its summery vibes and it's just so wonderfully innocent - not something often found in your average modern pop song.

From the opening bass and drum interplay this song sounds "Happy." Lyrically, Pharrell Williams dares anyone to bring him down because he is happy. The chorus encouraging clapping along is instantly infectious. A spare production is augmented by retro soul backup vocals that help give the song a cool groove that segues seamlessly into a handclapping breakdown backed with soulful chants of "happy".

Williams scored an Oscar nomination in 2014 for his song "Happy" from the film "Despicable Me 2." He also had a Grammy-winning collaboration with Daft Punk on the dance hit "Get Lucky."

He was an adviser to team Usher on season four of "The Voice," and performed the song "Blurred Lines" with Robin Thicke on the show in May 2013.
