Forming in February of 2002, the band is comprised of five of the most diverse creators of metal. Ranging in different influences such as Death Metal, Speed & Thrash, Power Metal, Black Metal, Punk Rock, Hardcore, Glam Rock, Hip-Hop & Rap. This is the very reason this diverse and eclectic group of musicians can make such richly textured and creative music.

Based out of Tampa, Florida, this dynamically charged Metal band has a talent for churning out a steady blend of ferocious yet melodic music backed with some brutal vocals. The Band definitely has an evolved sound, going beyond just your run of the mill everyday Metal band.

In May of 2004, Left in Ashes recorded a three song EP with Musician/Producer Erik Rutan, (Hate Eternal, Alas, Ex-Morbid Angel) of Mana Recording Studio in Tampa, Florida. Know Your Enemies, My Demons, and Torn Between Two Classes were the chosen tracks for the CD. The EP received great response from fans and some really good reviews from Metal magazines such as BWBK and Metal Maniacs. Left in Ashes also released a self produced video for My demons which is can be seen on YouTube.

Left in Ashes has shared the stage with such acts as Obituary, Hate Eternal, Cryptopsy, Cattle Decapitation, Strapping Young Lad, Vital Remains, 1349, Testament, Dying Fetus, Skeletonwitch, Year of Desolation, Macabre, Soilent Green, The Absence, The Autumn Offering, A Perfect Murder, The Agony Scene, Misery Signals, Into the Moat, Reflux, Body Count, Goatwhore, Unholy Ghost, Remembering Never, Yeti, Royal Anguish, Vampire Mooose, Sleeping by the Riverside, and many others!

After over 5 years of playing shows all over Florida and the southeastern part of the country, Left in Ashes has gathered quite a large following of fans ranging from all ages and that fan base continues to grow with every show!.

In 2005 Left in Ashes ended up parting ways with original drummer Tim Ross. He decided to call it quits after stating that he was losing interest and that he had a lot of personal issues to take care of. We wish him all the best but LIA must continue, we are not about to give up just yet!

After trying out a handful of drummers with no success we were starting to get restless and were really missing being on stage and performing. Im not sure what the popular belief is but finding the right drummer is tough as hell. 7 months later when the flame seemed to be fading out, i get an email from a friend who pointed us into the right direction. We gave Carlos a call and set up an audition. 3 sessions later, we knew we had the right guy! His skills, mindset, determination, and metal background are all i the right place. We embraced this completely!!!

In more recent news and as most of you may already know, Left in Ashes has been laid to rest. It is very unfortunate, heartbreaking, and we never thought that this day would come. All the musicians in LIA poured their hearts out for the band and we wanted nothing but the best in every aspect. As LIA grew, the musicians grew as well. In some areas the band was growing together, becoming stronger and stronger with every passing practice & every show. However, there were other areas where the band was growing apart. After all the blood, sweat, and tears that were poured into the band and into the music itself, there was no choice but to take a break from all the madness hoping that the passion would never fade and they could reunite stronger than before. Time however, in some instances, cannot fix everything. The band continued to grow further and further apart. This time to a point that could not be mended. basically to the point of no return.

We want to thank everyone who was in any way, shape, or form involved with Left in Ashes. To all of our families, friends, and most of all. the fans! Thank you for your support in all of our endeavors in this amazing journey that we referred to as "Left in Ashes". We truly love you with all of our hearts and appreciate everything! After 7 years, 2 drummers, and 2 recorded albums, it is time to say goodbye and on to the next chapter!

Its really hard to keep starving musicians / artists down. That is why Anthony Barboza and James Singletary have decided to form another band. They have joined forces with former "Of Angels and Gravediggers" drummer Dwane Nihiser and "False Demise" bassist Andre Zavala. They are still working on a name for the project but right now it is "The Headless Missionary". They have played a handful of shows and just recently opened up for the legendary Obituary at The Crowbar on January 8th 2010. Please stay tuned for more details. A website and/or myspace page is coming soon. Thank you to all! We love you!
