Bluegrass veteran Larry Cordle and his group Lonesome Standard Time perform "Highway 40 Blues" at the 2012 International Bluegrass Music Association Fan Fest in Nashville.

Well known as a songwriter, Larry Cordle has had songs recorded by Garth Brooks, George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Reba McEntire and many others. The band Lonesome Standard Time, formed in 1990, earned a Grammy award and an IBMA song of the year award for its debut album. The band, which continues to record today, is perhaps best known for its 2000 album Murder on Music Row, which won several honors and was immediately hailed as a classic.
