JON OLIVA'S PAIN drummer and producer Christopher Kinder has given an update on Jon's solo album update:
"Good day one and all...the first (and probably last, ha-ha) JON OLIVA solo record is now complete. Oliva will be the first to admit that it took one hell of a challenge writing, performing 90% of all the tracks himself and vocals... he is exhausted for sure. It's a very interesting and powerful offering. Diverse, emotional, and varying styles of writing and music everywhere. A truly great accomplishment for the mountain king indeed.
The album will be out this year.

YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, DARK TRANQUILLITY, MYRATH, NIGHTMARE, THE SANITY DAYS and ANURZYM have been confirmed for the Dubai Rock Fest 2013. The Festival will be held on April 12th at the Emirates Golf Club.

VIKING have announced their first shows in over 20 years. Viking released 2 albums 1987's Do Or Die and 1989's Man Of Straw.
They will re-release a limited-edition double CD titled Metal Versus Straw featuring both of Viking's first two albums, Do or Die and Man of Straw. The new release No Child Left Behind should be out in late April. Samples of the new album can be seen below.

Sepultura have begun work on their next album. Writing started last week, with the band working out of High Five Studio in Sao Paulo, Brazil. A winter 2013 release through Nuclear Blast Records is expected.
