Lacksley Castell was born 1959 in Kingston, Jamaica. He started singing at the tender age of 10, the first recorded in 1975. He first worked with Lee Perry and the with Pablo and Jammys. Lacksley then started working with Robert Palmer on the Negus Roots Label in 1980 and in the time has recorded African Queen, Collie Tree, JAH is Watching You, and his latest record, prior to this LP, Government Man, which was a big seller in 1981. Now he has completed his first Album which took a year to make and which is certain to bring him in line with some Jamaica's top singers.
This young man has a lot of talent which you will hear for yourselves, and no doubt we will be hearing a lot more of him in future. (Jah Mike)
