DESCRIPTION:
Siguriyas as part of Puerto Flamenco's latest dance production 'ISLA', featuring seven of Seville's top flamenco artists. This flamenco dance production revolves around the central theme of 'ISLA' or island, a commentary on the individualization of our society at large and an exploration of man's relationship with solitude, sanctuary and otherness. With the famous motto "no man is an island" of John Donne, the work presents a critique of the insularity required by a system that separates man from his neighbour. A dangerous trend is also reflected in the genre of flamenco.
