Historia

La Calzada de los Muertos (the avenue of the death, in remembrance of the alleyway between the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon in the archeological site Teotihuacán, México) is a Punk-Rock-Ska band from Mexico/Berlin.

The musical project startetd off in the squats of Berlin with Mexicans migrants. During the years many musicians have taken part in the band. Now, in 2011, the line-up who record the new songs and perform live on stage in Europe are: Fer (vocals, founder), Grenias (Guitar, back vocals, founder) Manchi (Bass, back vocals), Peter (Trumpet, back vocals), Joerg (Trombon), Adan(Drums).

The music blends an extended mixture of influences and creates a fusion between latin rythms for parties and carneval, the power and rebellion of Punk and Rock and a Mexican Mariachi flavour.
The first album (2005) is titled "La Muerte con Charango" released under the Mexican independent label "Jaguar Records". The first single "Sigo Caminando" was recorded featuring Dr Shenka, the singer of Panteon Rococo, and La Bruja, featuring Mariachi Internacional El Dorado.

La Calzada de los Muertos has finished the recording of new songs for the new Vinyl disc. They are also preparing the filming and production of the new video of the song "Invasion". Soon there will be more inforation about the video and vinyl presentation.
