PUBLISHED:  Dec 07, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
Mukasa discusses his friendship with Kwame Ture (aka Stokely Carmichael) and the origins of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). He reveals and explains the tensions and philosophical differences that arose between the more aggressive and militant youth of SNCC and the more traditional "old guard" of Dr. Martin Luther King's Southern Leadership Conference and the NAACP.
