On May 9th, Kristina Maria performed at the Kool Haus in CHUM FM’s Fanfest event, during Canadian Music Week 2014.

This young pop star knows that she was born to sing, having said, “I used to hum on key before I could even speak.” She sang, well… everywhere: school choir in Second Grade, talent shows in Ottawa at age 12, then recording demos, later singing at the Canadian Conservatory of Music in many different styles, from pop to opera to R&B. She sings, in fact, even to unwind, with her brothers' rap buddies.

At the age of 20 Kristina’s demo tape impressed Vito Luprano, best known as Senior VP of A&R for Sony Music and the Executive Producer for Celine Dion; impressed him so much that he came out of semi-retirement to guide her career. Since 2011 her first three singles have all charted in the Canadian Hot 100, and she has three singles certified Gold in Canada.

Kristina has worked with many notable songwriters and performers; among them Billy Steinberg (Madonna, Cindy Lauper, Whiney Houston) and Josh Alexander (Demi Lovato), Kristian Lundin (the Backstreet Boys), Anders Bagge and Peer Astrom (Janet Jackson, Santana, Jennifer Lopez), and JC Chasez (‘N Sync).

On stage at CHUM FM’s Fanfest, Kristina’s ultra-catchy dance-pop was well received by an appreciative audience, prowling the stage in a confident, energetic performance.
