[KONTROL] is proud to bring the finest in minimal techno and forward-thinking tech-house music to the Bay Area every month, with an emphasis on live performances.
The event was conceived and initiated by Midwest transplant Greg Bird, who enlisted some of San Francisco's most dedicated and knowledgable minimal enthusiasts to support him as resident DJ's: Sammy D, Alland Byallo, Craig Kuna, and Nikola Baytala. Together as a team we work hard to bring the world's best to San Francisco every month, whether it's established veterans of the sound, or up and coming artists who we feel the world should know about.
Guests thus far have included the highly acclaimed Swiss live duo Galoppierende Zuversicht and Bruchstuecke label owner DJ Fragment, German virtuoso Isolée, minimal mastermind Daniel Bell, microhouse pioneer Akufen, Amercian techno hero Matthew Dear, the collaborative live debuts of John Tejada + Justin Maxwell and Ryan Crosson + Lee Curtiss, Modeselektor, Jeff Samuel, Soma Records' Alex Smoke, Sutekh, L.A. techno veteran Kenneth Graham, M_nus Records' Troy Pierce, Pheek, Caro, [a]pendics.shuffle, Mossa, Dafluke, Pan/Tone, Someone Else, Plus 8 legend The Kooky Scientist, Brian Aneurysm, Dave Aju, and local Dirtybird Records' rising stars Justin Martin and Claude VonStroke.
