When the Kompott crew started organising parties in 2003 they were driven by the idea to easterntain Germany. Kompott captures the mentality of young Eastern Europeans:a mixture of fatalism and fun, hedonism and heroism, radicalism and romance. Katja, Katja and Stanislav aka Max Bitter bundle all these characteristics in their DJ sets, combing progressive electronic beats with sovjet classics or traditional folkloristic themes. Its an insane liason of Eastern European music stereotypes such as Polka, Kazachoc or Klezmer with Drum&Base, Ska or Dub accompained by Sovjetgrooves ranging from trashy to elegant. Kompott is as a loud, provoking and entertaining interpretation of the post-socialist present and its cultural past. Its an invitation to free yourself from style conventions and and stereotypes - to dance, go wild, go East!

Seit 2003 organisiert das Kölner Triumvirat der russischen Subkultur die erfolgreiche Kompott-Partyreihe. Kompott steht für den jungen Ostblock: eine Mischung aus Fatalismus und Freude am Leben, Hedonismus und Heldeneifer, Radikalismus und Romantik. Katja, Katja und Stanislav aka Max Bitter bündeln dieses Lebensgefühl in Ihren DJ-Sets. Ihre Musik ist ein wilder Stilmix aus progressiven elektronischen Beats, Sovjet-Klassikern und traditioneller Volklore und damit ein Streifzug durch ihre sozialistische Kindheit und postsozialistische Jugend.
Auf Ihren Plattentellern werden musikalische Ost-Klischees wie Polka, Kasatschok und Klezmer mit Drum&Base, Dub oder Ska serviert, dazu gibts saftig-trashige Sovjetgrooves. Für die besondere Würze werden ständig frische Ost-Importe wie z.B. Pakava IT, La Minor oder Markscheider Kunst zu Live-Auftritten eingeflogen.
Kompotts deftiges Derbtainment treibt die Füßen an und Stilpuristen in die Flucht. Auf der Tanzfläche regiert wieder retro-proletarische Euphorie statt szenebürgerlicher Coolnes und am Ende des Abends liegen sich Ivan und Andrea, Wodka und Jägermeister in den Armen. Davai tanzui!
