KOFRE BIO:
Kofre se origina a mediados de los 90s en New Jersey como una de las bandas pioneras del rock latino en la costa este de USA. Y después de algunos años de estar tocando en su mayoria temas covers y tratando de encontrar su estilo, a comienzos de milenio Kofre reinventa su sonido y se enfoca en la fusión de diversos estilos, creando un material propio más original. La temática lírica de Kofre empieza a reflejar el dilema social del immigrante latino en sus abatares para sobrevivir en EE.UU., con temas como "Oceano" y "Mákina" entre otros. Musicalmente Kofre desarrolla influencias de ska, punk, rock, metal, reggae, jazz, afrobeat y rock progresivo, fusionando varios estilos y nuevos sonidos de música latina. En el 2005 Kofre gana el Alternafest, la primera batalla de bandas de rock latino en New York con consecutivas presentaciones. En el 2006 se realiza el lanzamiento del primer video de Kofre, titulado "Makina" con miras a la grabación de su primer album. Un año después se cumple el viejo deseo de editar el primer disco independiente de Kofre, titulado "Por el hueco" con un exitoso lanzamiento en agosto del 2008. A finales del mismo año, Kofre recibe una premiación especial por Voltaje Magazine en el Slam Fest 2008 por 10 años de fusion ska y rock Latino. Y a principios del 2009, Kofre realize un gira por la costa oeaste de USA, contando con 4 shows en 5 días, dando inicio a la gira promocional nacional de "Por el hueco"
Kofre ha compartido escenarios con: Enanitos Verdes, Jarabe de Palo, Panteón Rococó , Sekta Core, Salón Victoria, Babasónicos, Bersuit Vergarabat, Pedro Suares Vértiz, Micky Gonzales, Vilma Palma y Vampiros, Nosequién y Nosecuantos y Flavio Mandiga Project, entre otros. Así como bandas norteamericanas como The Toasters, The Pietasters, Warsaw, Hub City Stompers y Deals Gone Bad.
Kofre está conformado por Chali Muñoz-Elías (Perú) en voz y guitarra, Alejandro Haaker (México) en bajo, Alejandra Guzmán (Bolivia) en trombón, Susu Ideno (Japón) en saxofón y Jorge Moreno (Perú) en bateria. KOFRE BIO (Translation)
KOFRE starts off in New Jersey in the mid 90's as one of the pioneer Latin rock bands of the east coast in the USA. And after a few years of mostly playing covers and trying to find its own style, towards the dawn of the new millennium Kofre reinvents its sound focusing in the fusion of Latin styles and rock. The lyrical side of the band starts reflecting the Latin immigrant experience. Out of this come songs like "Oceano" and "Makina" and others. Musically Kofre's influences range from ska, punk, rock, metal, reggae, jazz, afro beat, progressive rock, and always mixing it with Latin folk styles. In 2005 Kofre wins 1st place in Alternafest, the first rock Latino battle of the bands held in NYC, after consecutive performances. In 2006, Kofre releases their first video "Makina". A year later, in 2007, Kofre accomplishes the long awaited recording of their first full length CD etitled "Por el hueco" ("Through the hole") which is released to the public in August, 2008. The same year Kofre is awarded an especial recognition by Voltaje Magazine at the Slam Fest 2008 for 10 years of ska and Latin rock fusion. And at the beginning of 2009 Kofre embarks on a tour to the west coast with four shows in 5 nights in California, kicking off their national promotional tour in support of "Por el hueco". Kofre has shared the stage with artists like Enanitos Verdes, Jarabe de Palo, Babasonicos, Panteon Rococo, Bersuit Vergarabat, Pedro Suares Vertiz, Micky Gonzales, Vilma Palma y Vampiros, Salon Victoria, La Sekta Core, No se quien y No se cuantos.
