DESCRIPTION:
Jonathan started to play the diatonic accordion at the age of 8. Next to completing his studies in composition he learned from musicians such as Marinette Bonnert and started several music projects of his own to experiment and find his own style.( Knopf Quartet, Imaginary Country Boys) At the moment he is mainly focused on the Diab Quintet, which will be releasing its first album in January 2013. "Citadelle" is one of the songs from the forthcoming album. It is a poetic reflection on how we make up our minds on deciding what we share with other people and what we intimately keep to ourselves...

Jonathan begon de diatonische accordeon te spelen toen hij 8 jaar was. Naast zijn studies compositie leerde hij van muzikanten zoals Marinette Bonnert en richtte zelf verschillende projecten op om zijn muzikaal ei kwijt te kunnen. (Knopf Quartet, Three Imaginary Country Boys) Momenteel is hij voornamelijk bezig met het Diab Quintet, waar we het eerste album van kunnen verwachten in januari 2013. "Citadelle" is één van de nummers op dat album; het is een poëtische reflectie over wat we als individu laten zien en dat wat we bewust voor onszelf proberen te houden...

Jonathan a commencé à jouer à l'accordéon diatonique à l'âge de 8 ans avant d'emprunter les bancs du conservatoire de Liège où il a étudié la composition. Son parcours musical est semé de divers projet tous aussi ambitieux les uns que les autres ( Knopf Quartet, Imaginary, Les Déménageurs, etc). Parmi ses compagnons de route on retrouve des musiciens tels que Sophie Cavez, Anne Niepold ou encore Jo zanders. L'année 2013 débutera avec un nouveau défi pour l'accordéoniste puisque le groupe Diab Quintet dont il est l'initiateur sortira un nouvel album du nom de « Fourmilière », un clin d'œil aux vies agitées que mènent beaucoup d'entre nous dans nos sociétés contemporaines. « Citadelle » est un des morceaux phare de cet album. Il s'agit d'une réflexion poétique sur ce que dans la vie l'on choisi de montrer ou bien de cacher.
